New checkout and updated booking schedule

All you need to know about our new checkout and updated booking schedule and how it improves the player experience.

Q&A

We have gathered some useful information about the changes that have been made.

Is there anything I need to do as a venue?

Yes, possibly. With the new schedule, one booking can consist of more than one slot and for this reason, you might want to add time-based restrictions. Below is a step-by-step guide for how you add these additional restrictions.

Maximum upcoming bookings
To add time-based restrictions for maximum upcoming bookings, go to MATCHi Admin and click on Administration > The venue > Settings. Here you can choose to add restrictions for “Maximum minutes of upcoming bookings” and/or “Maximum minutes of upcoming bookings per day”.

Punch cards
To set the maximum duration a player can book with one punch for a specific punch card, go to MATCHi Admin and click on Administration > Offers > Punch cards. Then click on a specific punch card and go to Edit. By default there is now a setting that limits a punch to 90 minutes. The setting is called Maximum duration of booking (minutes) and you can update this setting to either 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, whichever is correct for each individual punch card.

All other changes connected to this update will be implemented automatically and your players will be presented with the new checkout flow when they do their next booking, in the app or on the web.

A more flexible schedule you say, in what way?

This is a first step in allowing for a more flexible booking schedule. Through these changes all bookings made by your players, even if they consist of more than one slot, will be handled as one continuous booking. Both towards the players and in the schedule in your admin view.

With this update the player will no longer receive separate booking confirmations for each slot but instead one combined confirmation for the whole booking. This change will improve the player experience for all extended bookings and depending on the need of your venue it could enable the use of shorter slots already today. We will continue to work on functionality that gives you as a venue full control of your booking schedule and look forward to sharing more news as we move forward.

What changes are being made to the transaction fees?

The changes made will only apply to the calculation of the fixed transaction fee for regular bookings done by the players in the app or on the web. The level of the transaction fees are the same and all other types of bookings are unaffected.

The fixed transaction fee will no longer be calculated per slot but will instead be calculated per booked hour. This is a change we need to implement in order to facilitate a more flexible schedule going forward.

Will this update impact the automatic light and access control in any way?

No. If you have automatic light and access control at your venue that will continue to work as usual.
